[image-1][image-3]Tuesday, Oct. 3 Charleston Fire Department emergency crews were dispatched to Swig & Swine’s West Ashley location. No injuries were reported, but because of the fire in the smokehouse, the restaurant has had to close.

This Sun. Oct. 8, Swig & Swine pit master Anthony DiBernardo will host a fundraiser for his 42 hourly employees.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the West Ashley location, DiBernardo will be selling reduced price pork packages — including one pound of pork, a quart of baked beans, a quart of slaw, and a pint of sauce — for $30, which can “easily feed a family a four.” Pre-orders can be made by calling Swig & Swine West Ashley, (843) 225-3805, or Summerville, (843) 771-9688.

“We hope you will feed your family to help us support our family,” explains DiBernardo. “We have a very loyal team that is sticking with us following this fire. While we are closed, we have a team that can’t come in to work and make money. We hope that this sale will help us as we continue to make efforts to offset some of their bills until we reopen.”

UPDATE: Swig & Swine will reopen next week.
