Atlanta Chef Ford Fry will open a new restaurant, his 12th, in Charleston’s Cigar Factory in 2016. Fry’s publicist Ashlyn Carter confirm the news that Fry, who currently has restaurants in Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Decatur, will open a Tex-Mex spot in the building that currently houses Garden & Gun’s offices as well as Indigo Road’s new Mercantile and Mash.

Fry already operates two Tex-Mex style restaurants — Superica and The El Felix — though Carter could not confirm if the chef’s Charleston outpost would be of the same name as either of those places.

In 2013 Fry’s The Optimist was named one of Bon Appetit magazine’s Top 10 Best New Restaurants in America. Fry’s other Rocket Farm Restaurants include Bar Margot, Marcel, King + Duke, No. 246, St. Cecilia, JCT Kitchen & Bar, and a new seafood restaurant called BeetleCat that’s expected to open in Atlanta in November.

Update: Atlanta Eater confirms that Fry’s new Charleston restaurant will be called Superica just like his his Krog Street Market concept. His Atlanta version of Superica opened in February. There Fry’s menu consists of tamales, flautas, three kinds of nachos, a variety of plates, and something called a puffy taco dinner that comes with chicken tinga, morita chili braised picadillo, or spiced ground beef.
