Water Dog Grill, a new Mt. Pleasant restaurant at 1035 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., will cut the ribbon today at 4:30 p.m.
The new neighborhood eatery is the brainchild of restaurateur Steve Carroll, whose resume leans more toward music venues and bars than family-friendly restaurants. He’s been involved with the Radio Room, the Windjammer, and Red’s Ice House.
A father of two, Carroll has always wanted to open a place where his family can hang out. Water Dog Grill is not just for hanging but watching sports too, with 20 TVs, 24 beers on tap, and two stages. It looks like Carroll might not be ready to hang up all of his old tricks. He wants to bring together food, sports, and music without the late-night environment.
Located at 1035 Johnnie Dodds Blvd., Water Dog Grill will be open daily, 11 a.m. until close.
