Charleston screenwriters Marcia Chandler Rhea and Margaret Ford Rogers received honors for their script The Carolina Storyteller, which is set in the South in the 1920s, and focuses on two young boys who discover a secret in their small town. The script earned top recognition for style and voice by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. The pair have also garnered honors at the Beaufort and Austin Film Festivals. The script was optioned to Sydell Albert Productions in Los Angeles last year, but has yet to be green lit. Rhea is a graduate of the College of Charleston and currently serves on the Citadel School of Humanities and Social Sciences Advisory Board. Rogers is a freelance photographer.
