It’s the last weekend before holiday madness hits Charleston. Soak it up with these fun events.

Redux hosts their annual art auction at the Center for Photography on Saturday. Tickets are $20 for non-members, and will get you food, drinks, and the chance to bid on works by some of the Lowcountry’s best artists. Also on Saturday, guest curator Jonathan Brilliant presents Things, a collection of functional and non-functional objects (like Owen Premore’s doughnuts), at Eye Level Art. On Saturday and Sunday the Best of the Best Artisan Sale and Show takes over 10 Storehouse Row with affordable goods from local artists. Also, get your shop on at Novel, King Street’s latest pop up shop, where you’ll find vintage clothing, jewelry, and art.

B-ball fans, check out the Charleston Classic Basketball Tournament through Sunday at Carolina First Arena — You’ll see teams like University of S.C., Penn State, Davidson, UNC-Wilmington, Miami, LaSalle, USF, and Tulane battle it out. The Stingrays are also in town, playing a game on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The Charleston Comedy Festival Stand-Up Competition Preliminary Round is Saturday night at Theatre 99 — watch funny hopefuls compete to make it to the next round ($5). In other comedy news, Pauly Shore is at Jaguars.

Feeling shucky? The YMCA hosts an Oyster Shindig Friday at the Pine Forest Country Club ($30/adv., $35/door), Daniel Island Soccer Academy hosts Shuck for Soccer on Saturday at Pierce Park Pavilion ($20/adv., $25/door, $15/kids), and St. Matthew’s hosts their Oyster Roast at the Charleston Elks Lodge on Sunday ($20/adv., $25/door, $10/kids). The Charleston Community Sailing Oyster Roast is also Sunday at Bowens Island ($30, $15/youth, free/12 and under, add $5 at the door).

Allow your eardrums to be caressed at one of this weekend’s many music events. Ten-man a cappella group and YouTube sensations Straight No Chaser performs at the Music Hall Friday. On Friday and Saturday, David Stahl leads the Charleston Symphony Orchestra in a 21-gun salute to our military’s musical landscape over the decades. Also on Saturday, the Plantation Singers perform a free Gullah concert at the Barnes & Noble in West Ashley. And on Sunday, enjoy rockabilly music and chicken shit bingo at The Mill’s Thanksgiving Honky-Tonk.

And finally, in the difficult-to-categorize category, CofC’s observatory is open to the public Friday night. You can watch the Miss S.C. USA and Miss Teen USA preliminaries and finals on Friday and Saturday, respectively, at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. Charles Towne Landing is the site of the Fall Frolic in the Animal Forest on Saturday, where families can meet the animals and play games. The Charleston Tibetan Society hosts their annual charitable auction on Saturday at Gage Hall. And the Women Authors Holiday Book Signing is Sunday in the Mt. Pleasant Towne Centre. How’s that for a random assortment?
