If you’re up for some sci-fi drama, Regal Charles Towne Square 18 and Regal Azalea Square Stadium 16 are having special showings of Sharknado, a movie about a freak disaster involving man-eating sharks swimming up the streets and falling from the Los Angeles sky. Hmm, maybe too soon after the IOP shark attack? Nah. Tickets are $12.50 and the showings start at 12:05 a.m.
Stay healthy and happy at the Community Yoga Social at the Yoga House of Charleston, where a one-hour all levels yoga class will be followed by a happy hour serving local craft brews and healthy appetizers. Tickets are $25 and the event starts at 7 p.m.
SATURDAY The weekend is filled with events for the Charleston PRIDE festival, including the Compass 2013 PRIDE After-Party. Guests will party with music from DJ K and performances by Detox from RuPaul’s Drag Race and Orlando’s Spikey Van Dykey.
Bonefish Grill is having their opening and will offer guest two drink tickets and food. All of the proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
While you’re up in North Charleston, stop by the second annual Iron Brew competition and see which brewer gets crowned the winner.
God Loves Uganda is a film that explores the rise of evangelists in Uganda spreading the word of the Christian Right. The film starts at 7 p.m. at the Olde Village Community Center and tickets are $5, $2 for members.
Don’t miss the last concert of the Reggae Nights series at James Island County Park. Mystic Vibrations will be playing starting at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $8, but children under 13 are free.
SUNDAY After weeks of competition, the Budweiser Bikini Bash Finals are finally here.
The bikini bash isn’t the only competition coming to an end, the Lowcountry High Rollers Hometeam Championships are this Sunday.
Spend your Sunday morning on a scenic tour with the Morris Island Lighthouse Tour. They leave from the Folly Creek location by the Crosby’s Dock and lead guests through the estuary on their way to the lighthouse. Lunch will be on a hammock island, under the shade of palmettos and live oaks.
