Buckle up, y’all, it’s Christmas week. It’s time to wear all of your tacky sweaters — layer three at a time if you must. Drink every eggnog recipe in the book, or maybe just one with three kinds of liquor. Light pine-scented candles and shove cloves in oranges. You get the idea. We’ve rounded up all of this weekend’s Santa-inspired shindigs so squeeze the heck out of that ho-ho-holiday spirit.


Catch three live acts at tonight’s Loading Dock series — MoJo McGee, Brings of the Dawn, and See Water. The fun starts at 6 p.m.

Ballet Evolution presents The Little Match Girl at Sottile Theatre at 7:30 p.m. tonight and tomorrow night.

Get your guffaws at three different places tonight. You can catch Eddie Izzard at the PAC at 8 p.m., an improv jam at Theatre 99 at 8 p.m., and a variety show, Rip City, at Redux at 9 p.m.

First ugly sweater party of the weekend! Hit Molly Darcy’s in your ugly gear and win a prize for sporting the ugliest sweater of them all. Finbar MacCarthy and Ringo will perform at 7 p.m. and DJ Biffo comes on at 10 p.m.

If you prefer your Christmas carols sans instruments then head to St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church at 7 p.m. to catch a capella group the Charlestones.

5th Wall Productions at the Citadel Mall presents Heart of Christmas: A Musical, a performance featuring puppets and original composition, at 7 p.m.


Wake up, run, and raise money for the families of the Emanuel Nine with the Holy City 5K at James Island County Park. The race starts at 9 a.m.

Get in some holiday shopping at the Avondale pop-up shop with works by Dolly Paul Design from 12-4 p.m. at 829 Savannah Hwy.

While you don’t actually hit up 12 different pubs at the 12 pubs of Christmas pub crawl in Park Circle, you still get to drink aplenty. Start at Madra Rua at 5 p.m.

The CSO will perform both Christmas and Star Wars tunes at their Holiday Pops concert at the Gaillard at 7:30 p.m. Be on the lookout for Star Wars characters.

We always like our naughty with a side of nice and Evelyn DeVere’s giving us just that with Twisted Christmas: An Evening of Naughty and Nice Burlesque at Redux at 8 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring items for the nonprofit My Sister’s House.

Andy Livengood stars in a one-man show at Theatre 99 at 10 p.m. — he’ll act out a version of almost every Christmas TV special you can think of.

Wear your ugly sweater to Loggerhead’s for a chance to win a first place prize of a $50 gift certificate. Tunes by DJ Devon will keep the party going from 10 p.m.-1 a.m.

We make our best holiday purchases while under the influence of yummy beers. Head to Holy City Brewing from 2-6 p.m. to check out local vendors.

Revelry Brewing Co. promises pint discounts for tacky sweaters. Head there from 6-10 p.m. to jam to live music and grab some sweet treats from Diggity Doughuts.


Bohemian Bull hosts a holiday market from 1-4 p.m. with local artists, vendors, and live music.

The Tin Roof presents Jinglebang!, a concert jam-packed with local musicians like Hunter Park, Lily Slay, Lindsay Holler, and more starting at 6 p.m.

Head to the Dock Street Theatre at 3 p.m. for a showing of A Christmas Story.

The Islander on Daniel Island will have a pancake buffet and pictures with Santa from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Brad and Jennifer Moranz will croon their hearts out at their 3 p.m. performance of Charleston Christmas Special at the Music Hall. Expect dancing, singing, and a ventriloquist.
