The Charleston Arts Coalition and the S.C. Arts Commission are seeking participants (a.k.a. “roadies”) for the Charleston Road Show. Based on a similar initiative in Columbia, the Road Show will help young people aged 23 to 39 become more familiar and comfortable with the arts while giving arts organizations insight into what young people want from them.

Participants will visit six local organizations — Redux Contemporary Art Center, PURE Theatre, Charleston Ballet Theatre, Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art, Chamber Music Charleston, and the Charleston Symphony Orchestra — three times each over the next few months. The first two visits will be informal, behind-the-scenes opportunities, and the third will be for a formal performance or reception.

The project is funded by a grant from the S.C. Arts Commission. There is a nominal fee of $25 to participate, once selected. Apply at by Aug. 26.
