[image-8] [image-2]John Zucker’s two-years-in-the-making restaurant Purlieu (237 Fishburne St.) finally has an opening date. Tues. Nov. 28 the 34-seat Westside restaurant will officially unlock its doors and start serving European-influenced food.

The menu, designed by the owner of Cru Cafe and Purlieu’s Executive Chef Jeff Williams is heavily influenced by both chefs’ French culinary training. Zucker studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris while Williams also studied French technique.

That means frog leg tarte is a starter along with rabbit rillet. You’ll be able to order a duck proscuitto salad, bouillabaisse. Of course, you can’t open a nieghborhood cafe without a burger, and Purlieu has one of those too. The P237 burger is a double patty with American cheese, caramelized shallots, dijon, and house-made mayo.

“The menu is classical French made with regional ingredients,” says Williams. However, don’t expect it to be limited to that. Williams will branch out with specials and menu changes once or twice a week.

Purlieu will start out serving just dinner Tuesday-Saturday, from 5-10 p.m. with lunch and brunch planned for the future.[image-4][image-3]
