We announced plans for What If? Productions’ inaugural Playwrights Competition earlier this year, and we just found out that they’ve narrowed the 70-something submissions down to three finalists. Tyler Stuart (The Practice Child), Brian B. Jones (After. Life.), and Evan Guilford-Blake (Mountain Greenery) will present their selected scenes at staged readings at What If?’s Playwrights Festival July 27-28.

The audience will help choose a winning playwright, who’ll go on to present his full show the following season. The Festival also features opportunities for local artists to show off their creativity with a 24-hour playhouse and performances by the Charleston Dance Project and Andrew Walker of Entropy Ensemble.
