Adult Queer Prom
Tri-county-based nonprofit We Are Family is hosting the state’s only Adult Queer Prom this weekend. A great way to kick off pride month celebrations in Charleston, this fourth annual event will provide LGBTQ+ adults and allies age 18 and up with an inclusive, affirming night of fun and a second chance to have the prom experiences they have always dreamed of.

Play Dayz
Mount Pleasant Towne Centre’s signature new program series, Play Dayz, invites kids ages 10 and under to a morning of fun activities at The Oaks. Launched last month, Play Dayz features various arts and crafts stations, music classes, special treats, games and more. The kids club is set to continue on the first Tuesday of every month with a different theme for activities at each event. This week’s event will feature stuff for parents, too, like classes hosted by FIT4MOM Charleston, including stroller strides, full bod workouts and more.

Coffee House Variety Show
The Coffee House Variety Show is an eclectic mix of music, song and comedy presented in a relaxed coffee house atmosphere. This arts smorgasbord offers something for everyone from jazz to Gullah Geechee to opera and comedy. Clyde Moser is taking the reins as master of ceremonies, with performances by Ann Caldwell, Andy Livengood, Small Opera Company and V-Tones.

Creative Flow: Yoga in the Gallery
Taught by Lauren Skinner, this weekly, donation-based yoga class is held in the main gallery at Redux Contemporary Art Center. Surround yourself with art for a creative approach to Vinyasa yoga practice. Bring your own mat and face mask or covering to maintain the health and safety of other guests. Space is limited, and the event will run every Wednesday through June 29.

Macrame Wall-Hanging Workshop
Learn how to make your very own 12”-wide macrame on a wood dowel. Learn the basics of different macrame knots, and create fun patterns and designs together with other guests. After a couple hours, you will know the basics so you can take your skills home to make gifts for friends and family.
