Lucky for us, Charleston is brimming with breweries, so us locals can find a delicious craft beer pretty much anytime we want. But that means when it’s decision time, things can get pretty tricky, and we end up sticking with our usual. Lots of places are experimenting and coming out with new tasty brews, so it’s time to branch out and try something other than the same ole IPA you get every time. Here’s a list of the best sours and Goses in town:

If you like sours and you like mangoes, then head to Edmund’s Oast Brewing Co. Wed.-Mon. from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Their Sour Mango Strawberry is exactly as it sounds: fruity, sour, and delicious (and being 6.5% ABV helps too). Or try their new Cranberry Sour which just launched over the weekend.

Westbrook has two brand-new sour options for you to try. Their Lassi Know What You Think About This is a tart ale with red raspberry puree, milk, sugar, and vanilla (but if you’re lactose-intolerant like me :/, they’ve got another option for ya). They called in their pie experts to create the Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Gose with cinnamon, coriander, and, of course, strawberries and rhubarb. They’re open Tues.-Fri. from 4-8 p.m. and 12-6 p.m. on Sat.

Palmetto Brewing celebrates their founding year by bringing it back to the 90s. The Raspberry Rewind may not classify as a traditional Gose, but it’s crisp, fruity, and absolutely delicious. Don’t just take our word for it, they’re open Mon.-Thurs. from 4-10 p.m., Fri. and Sat. from 12-11 p.m., and 12-8 p.m. on Sun.

If you’re looking for something a little bit darker, Charles Towne Fermentory has got you covered. Their Berry Berry is a double fruited sour ale with blueberries, blackberries, and plum which is mild but has a hint of lemon acidity. They’re open Mon.-Thurs. from 4-11 p.m., Fri. 2 p.m.-12 a.m., Sat. noon-midnight, and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. on Sun.

Fam’s Brewing Co. offers something pretty in pink with their Folly Razz. It’s fruity, it’s flavorful, and it’s sure to leave that tarty taste in your mouth. They’re open from 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Sun.-Thurs. and 11-12 a.m. on Fri. and Sat.

Wicked Weed Brewing technically isn’t local, but you can pretty much find their Cherry Key Lime Burst anywhere in town, and it’s so gose-darn good it deserves to be on this list. Check your local pub or convenience store for the red can.
