Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen, Twilight, Red Riding Hood) directed the pilot episode.
Cam Gigandet plays Roy Rayder, the newly appointed city attorney. The divorced father of two has to make time for his two daughters and his job, but we’re more interested in watching the sparks fly between him and litigator Jamie Sawyer. You may recognize Gigandet from Twilight, The Roommate, Burlesque, or The Young and the Restless. But our favorite role of his is as Kevin Volchok on The O.C. Yes, the guy that essentially killed Marissa Cooper.
Anna Wood takes on the role of Jamie Sawyer. A transplant from Chicago, Jamie’s fills the tough Northerner shoes and uses her street smarts to win in the courtroom. But those smarts won’t keep her from falling for Roy, despite the fact that they’re working against each other. Wood is fairly new to the TV game, but she’s appeared as a regular on the TV show Deception, as well as having bit parts on Mad Men, Brothers and Sisters, and Cold Case.
Another Mad Men alum, Michael Gladis plays Holland Know, the deputy chief of the Charleston Police Department. A good friend of Roy, Holland seems to be an upstanding man, full of integrity. But his fellow officers don’t seem to follow the same moral compass.
Shawn Hatosy stars as Terry McCandless, a corrupt detective. There aren’t many details about his character, but from the previews we’ve seen, he’s a fan of using his handcuffs off duty — boom chicka wah wah. Hatosy’s been acting since the ’90s, with film roles in The Faculty, Anywhere But Here, Down to You, and Alpha Dog. He’s also appeared on Southland.
Georgina Haig takes on the role of wronged ex-cop Lee Anne Marcus — and Terry’s handcuffed paramour. Lee Anne sues the police department for defamation of character and hires Jamie as her lawyer. Haig previously appeared on Fringe and in the film The Sapphires.
Adam Rodriguez plays Preston Cruz, Jamie Sawyer’s well-respected boyfriend. But he might not be as good as he first appears. And what about the sexual tension between Jamie and Roy? We’re pretty sure Preston won’t be too happy about that. Rodriguez made a name for himself on CSI: Miami, but his credits also include Roswell, Ugly Betty, Magic Mike, and About Last Night.
