Two thousand thirteen may as well just be called the year of reality TV for the Palmetto State. There’s Southern Charm and Myrtle Manor, the MTV rumors of The Real World as well as that suspicious rumor of a Coyote Ugly-like show being filmed at Market Street Saloon. Well, it looks like another one was filmed in Murrells Inlet called Party Down South.
Brought to us by the producers of Jersey Shore, Party Down South follows eight young adults during a summer in Murrells Inlet, which according to the show description “may never be the same after these fast friends work, party, and bond with one another over their common love of the South.” Awesome.
The best part of this new “reality” show? None of the contestants are actually from South Carolina, with the majority of them hailing from Louisiana. There’s the lovable red neck Josh Murray, who goes simply by Murray, the momma’s boy Lyle Bordeaux, the one who calls himself “Daddy” a.k.a Ryan Richards, and Walt Windham, who doesn’t have have nickname and is just described as one who likes danger. The ladies include Lauren White, who likes to “party hard and get her extensions dirty,” Mattie Breaux, a former beauty queen, Taylor Wright, who goes by “Lil Bit” and loves guns and her Bible, and Tiffany Heinan, a farmer’s daughter with a pet pig.
Can’t wait to see the South be defiled on national television — again. Watch the show’s premiere on Thurs. Dec. 26 on CMT at 10:28 p.m. Nothing says the holidays like red neck partying.
