MUSC and Charleston County Parks are partnering up during the month of May for Adventure Out, a fitness campaign designed to help locals engage in green exercise, or exercise outdoors.

With a purchase of a $10 T-shirt, participants can enjoy a whole month of free classes and events. The program is offering over 25 ways to get involved including Zumba, martial arts, and yoga. Adventure Out supporters claim outdoor exercise delivers health benefits that you won’t get as readily from working out indoors, like stress management, improved self-esteem, and wanting to work out more frequently. And don’t forget about that Vitamin D.

The kick-off event is this Saturday, May 4 at 11 a.m. at the James Island County Park. There will be local food trucks, a fitness castle, Zumba, outdoor games, and more. Find out more details about the kick-off, the monthly schedule, and where to purchase a T-shirt, click here.
