“We are so close to opening that we can hardly stand it!” So says a newsletter from the team at Edmund’s Oast Exchange. The forthcoming retail arm of Edmund’s Oast — a two-story beer and wine shop next door to the restaurant — is swiftly nearing completion, and according to today’s newsletter, owner Scott Shor plans to unlock its doors in early August.

Many local artisans have worked so hard to turn this building into a reality, and we are grateful for the talent found right here in Charleston,” the email goes on to say.
[content-6] As we reported last June, Edmund’s Oast Exchange is the second coming of Shor’s original Charleston Beer Exchange which was on Exchange Street from 2008-16.
The new space is a significant upgrade from the cubby feel of that original location. Edmund’s Oast Exchange will be a 2,000-square-foot store selling wine under the direction of Sarah O’Kelley and 1,000 different varieties of beer sold in cans, bottles, kegs, and growlers curated for the shop by Advanced Cicerone Brandon Plyler.
Opening (hopefully) soon thereafter will be Edmund’s Oast Brewing Co. The brewery is currently under construction at the Pacific Box & Crate and will sit kitty-corner to Workshop.
