Edmund's Oast Exchange's beautiful new bottle shop is now open at Half Mile North

When Charleston Beer Exchange closed its doors on Exchange Street, local beer lovers shed a single tear for their departed downtown shop. But cry no more, you heathens. Edmund’s Oast Exchange opens today at 1080 Morrison Dr.

This city has many great neighborhood beer stores, but Charleston Beer Exchange was a special spot as the city’s first dedicated bottle shop. Scott Shor, Rich Carley, Brandon Plyler, and their team saw every single local beer drinker walk through their doors for years. Bless them.

Lucky for us, the soul of Charleston Beer Exchange has returned in the form of Edmund’s Oast Exchange. Housed in a towering new building alongside the restaurant on Morrison Boulevard, the Exchange boasts two stories with brews downstairs and an expansive wine collection upstairs. Both departments feature refrigerated selections and intimate bar spaces for small tastings and classes with Edmund’s Oast brews available on the downstairs growler station. (Edmund’s Oast Brewery is set to open at the Pacific Box and Crate complex in the coming weeks.)

Plyler, an advanced cicerone, remains at the helm with sommelier and former Glass Onion co-owner Sarah O’Kelley heading the shop’s wine program.

Edmund’s Oast Exchange will be open Tues.-Sat. 11 a.m.—8 p.m. and Sun. 12-5 p.m.
