Slightly North of Broad is hitting the road for more collaborative pop-ups as the East Bay Street fine-dining restaurant attempts to connect with the community during the pandemic.
“We started talking about it during the shutdown,” said S.N.O.B. executive chef Russ Moore. “It felt like a good time to do something outside and collaborate with other people that were having a tough year like we were.”
The collaborative pop-ups are new, but Moore and his staff hope they can become part of the restaurant’s brand moving forward. Last month, S.N.O.B. hosted The Co-Op’s new trailer for a frosé-filled brunch before heading to Park Circle for a gluten-free dinner at Ship’s Wheel, serving chicken and waffles, gluten-free pretzels and more.
“We’ve always had a very prevalent gluten-free menu, and we thought it’d be great to do a pop-up at the cidery that was gluten-free,” Moore said.
S.N.O.B. has two events scheduled for October starting Thursday at Ghost Monkey Brewery.
“I’ve got to give my executive sous chef Megan Hutchinson credit,” Moore said. “She goes to local breweries and was pretty instrumental in the idea of it. I’m kind of along for the ride.”
The East Bay Street restaurant will also host Kinfolk for a Nashville hot chicken-inspired pop-up later this month. Moore lamented that the restaurant not been able to have its normal presence at community events through the pandemic.
“We do lots of community events and were kind of bummed that everything was getting canceled,” Moore said. “For me personally, it’s getting out into the community because I really miss that.”
