Georgia-based bluegrass/Americana trio The Lovell Sisters — a longtime local favorite, and veterans of many Piccolo Spoleto events — announced they’ll be amicably splltting up this month.

"The past five years of our lives have been absolutely amazing — from MerleFest to Bonnaroo, from across the U.S. to across Europe, from our hometown of Calhoun to the Grand Ole Opry, it’s been unforgettable experience after unforgettable experience," reads an official press release. Fiddler/singer Jessica Lovell plans to attend college in the spring. Dobro player/singer Megan Lovell and mandolinist/singer Rebecca Lovell will continue making music together as a duo.

The Lovell Sisters perform two "farewell sets" at Eddie’s Attic in Atlanta on Sat. Dec. 26, and a final good-bye show in their hometown on Sat. Jan. 16 at Harris Arts Center.
