McCrady’s wants Charleston to get to know Executive Chef Sean Brock with a new menu option — a nine-course tasting menu. “The Chef’s Tasting Menu entertains diners with familiar flavors and ingredients presented in unexpected and playful ways,” says Chef Brock. “Each of the nine courses is a new and different dining adventure, so come prepared to be surprised.” Beginning in July, the chef will host an ongoing Q&A on the restaurant’s website. Radio Gone Nuts
Charleston natives Matt and Ted Lee, the entrepreneurs behind the Lee Brothers’ Boiled Peanuts Catalog — responsible for spreading Lowcountry culinary treasures throughout the world via Federal Express — are now hosting a radio show on Martha Stewart’s Sirius radio channel. The Southern food show, titled “The Boiled Peanut Hour,” is a talk show that tackles the controversies of Southern cooking, such as: cornbread, with or without cornmeal? The brothers are currently taping in New York City, but they plan to open a Charleston studio in a couple of months. “The Boiled Peanut Hour” airs Fridays at 10 a.m. —EL

White Russians, Anyone?
Baileys “Chill Together” survey has named Charleston among the top five most “chill” cities in America. Baileys compared 100 cities nationwide to determine the top five. Factors like per capita expenditure for entertaining and eating out, the number of restaurants, and the population of 25-to-34-year-olds helped them rank their faves. The new chillness factor won’t do anything about the summer heat wave, but don’t you feel just a little cooler knowing you live in such a hip place? —EL
