Thursday night was the

2006 Circle of Light Gala

at Marion Square. The annual event benefits the

Darkness to Light

foundation, which works to prevent child sexual abuse. Featured were chefs from restaurants all over Charleston who donated their time, as well as an auction of donated trips and entertainment packages.

VJ Greg Wu hosted the Asian-themed event, which finally wrapped up after midnight as people reluctantly left the dancefloor.

Saturday night was the 14th Annual Oyster Roast benefiting the

Make-A-Wish Foundation

at the Visitor’s Center Bus Shed. The event was hosted by

The Charitable Society of Charleston

, which is made up of young professionals in the Charleston area. The proceeds will be used to grant the wish of one of the Charleston area children who are on the waiting list for the foundation.

The

Hospice of Charleston

hosted its 18th annual Candlelight Memorial Ceremony at Colonial Lake on Sunday evening. The event is a memorial service for those who would like to remember someone they have lost this holiday season. Luminaries circled the lake, each labeled with the name of a lost family member or friend.
