The Blotter is taken from City of Charleston police department reports. We’ve added a cartoon and a little commentary. We’ve added a little humor, too. No one has been found guilty. This is not a court of law.
On Nov. 19, a downtown woman discovered a note on her door reading, “Who the fuck do you think you are? You have no right taking down the memorial of a kid that got shot 5 years ago. If you don’t like it move the fuck out. We don’t need people like you around here. I will be letting the family know who did this and it will go back up. Fuck you you fuck up bitch.” Although the woman does live directly across from the memorial’s site, she told police she had nothing to do with it being taken down.
Blotter Threat O’ The Week: “I’m going to bloody you.”
A James Island man called the cops on Nov. 17 after he fired two men working for his construction company. After being let go, one of the men allegedly said, “I am going to murder you.” The foreman of the construction site also said he feared for his life because the other man, allegedly “murdered someone in Mexico.” But seriously, who hasn’t murdered someone in Mexico?
A man was standing in line at a downtown convenience store on Nov. 19 when he became irate because of the wait time. “I’m not going anywhere until this bitch behind the counter hurries up and gets me my cigarettes.” After the woman handed him a pack of Newports, he called her a bitch again. She threatened to call the cops, but he allegedly pulled up his shirt to show her the handle of a semiautomatic handgun and said, “I ain’t scared of the police. She can call them. They just don’t know I do this for a living.” Calling women bitches and demanding special treatment is his job? He must be a rapper.
