, and The Charms. The theatrics were in full swing, go-go dancers and all. The reunion of legendary band The New York Dolls was a show not to be missed.
Friday evening, a silent candlelight march and rally began at Marion Square at dusk, with marchers walking to the Cistern at the College of Charleston. It was one of the many events held Friday in Charleston for World AIDS day. Check out

On Saturday, families gathered at Marion Square for the 20th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. The
Charleston Community Band
and the Ashley River Creative Arts School Unichorus entertained until Santa appeared and assisted Mayor Riley in the lighting of the tree, after which the public could walk inside the 60-foot Tree of Lights.
The 26th Annual Charleston Christmas Parade took place on Sunday afternoon. The parade began at the intersection of Calhoun and Meeting streets, proceeded down King Street to Broad Street to Lockwood Blvd. Santa ended the procession with gusto and then returned to Marion Square for visits with children.
