Music filled the air this weekend as crowds filled Johnson’s Pub on Fri. night for The Explorers Club, The Pour House on Sat. night for The Hackensaw Boys, and the Upper Deck Tavern for the weekly insanity that is Sun. night karaoke. The booming bass resounded from the Kresse Arena as College of Charleston students danced through Fri. night and into the early morn (15 straight hours!) to raise money for MUSC’s Children’s Hospital. In another corner of the arts world, the Footlight Players celebrated 75 years of treading the boards at an anniversary gala at the Riviera Theatre on Sat. night. You know it isn’t February in Charleston unless there’s an oyster roast happening somewhere, and a throng congregated at the newly-rebuilt Bowens Island Restaurant for Sunday’s Renaissance Hotel-hosted roast that benefited local nonprofit My Sister’s House.
