Volunteering was down in 2006, according to new data released from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The numbers were the lowest since 2002, when the government began recording such data. Women still volunteer more than men, 30 percent to 23 percent. The figures do not include the drunk guy who volunteers himself to every good looking woman in a bar. Maybe next year, fella.
