What makes a great sports bar great? It’s gotta have enough elbow room for at least a few dozen dedicated sports fanatics of all stripes to cheer on their favorite teams. It’s gotta have more than two dozen television screens (giant flat, hanging, tucked away, or otherwise), good greasy and nongreasy food, drink specials, and lots of friendly bartenders and servers who not only know who’s playing on the screens, but the stats, star players and coaches, and stakes of the game. King Street Grille stays busy every season — with or without the big games. Downtown: 36 television screens of various sizes. The newer Mt. Pleasant location: 25 television sets of various sizes and two large-screen projection machines. Kick ass.
