Adult Swim Strikes Again
Broad-shouldered humans will freestyle swim 2.4 miles around the Charleston Harbor this Saturday at 8:15 a.m. in the Sixth Annual Lowcountry Splash Open Water Swim. This Logan Rutledge Children’s Foundation-sponsored race will start at the Hobcaw Yacht Club and pass under the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, shoot along the shoreline of Mt. Pleasant past the Yorktown, and end at the Charleston Harbor Marina and Resort at Patriots Point. Swimmers can expect the water temperature to be in the 70-degree range. The Senior PGA Championship is the oldest and most prestigious event in senior golf, and the 68th championship is taking place this weekend at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. The likes of Dave Stockton, Tom Watson, Hale Irwin, and Craig Stadler are among those hoping to make khaki-wearing fans clap quietly from May 22-27. Head Butts Hurt,Don’t They?
It’s a no-hands Memorial Day celebration with the Lowcountry Soccer Festival filling up area fields with men’s, women’s, and coed teams vying for champion bragging rights. This year’s World Cup-formatted tournament will be played at West Ashley Park, Bayview Soccer Complex, and Ackerman Park throughout the day on May 26.
