In what may be the biggest coming out story EVER, author J.K. Rowling told a New York audience this week that Albus Dumbledore was gay. In hindsight, I guess the robes and the phoenix should have tipped us off (I jest).
She added that, in her mind, Dumbledore has an unrequited love affair with Gellert Grindelwald, Voldemort’s predeccessor who appears in the seventh book. After several minutes of prolonged shouting and clapping from astonished fans, Rowling added, “I would have told you earlier if I knew it would make you so happy.”
