If you’ve ever waited ’til the last minute to find a Halloween costume, you know the pickins can be pretty slim, and they only get slimmer as the big day approaches. Shopping a few days before Halloween this past October, we found most party shops filled with boring slut-tastic ware, the Goodwills were picked clean, and our hope was wearing thin. But then we hit gold with the Children’s Cancer Society Thrift Store in Avondale. Though the place was crawling with college kids, it still offered a treasure trove of costume options. Hell, we found so much good cheap stuff, we shop there even when it’s not Halloween.
