Dogs today have pretty extravagant lives. They spend time in hotels, frequent gourmet bakeries, and even wear doggie couture. Just like us, they need to hop on the “reduce, reuse, recycle” bandwagon. One way they can do this is by turning their big food bags into doggie totes (www.allfreecrafts.com/recycling-crafts/dog-bag-tote.shtml). Doggie beds can also be made from previously used items; just stuff an old pillowcase full of plastic bags and then tie or sew up the opening. Fortunately, all recycled dog products don’t have to be so functional — fun stuff can be made, too. Grab three pairs of old pants, cut off three of the legs, sew the legs together at one end, braid them, and then sew up the end of the braid for a tug-worthy dog toy. Chances are, your pup is more than enthusiastic about saving the planet — encourage her activism!
