A recent poll by The Associated Press suggests that while animal activists may be pigeonholed as liberals, pet owners are leaning Republican. Dog owners go for McCain, while cat owners are riding the fence. Voters interviewed by the AP suggested McCain’s support might come from the fact that the candidate has pets, as opposed to Obama, who doesn’t. But, if the red phone is ringing, do we really want the president digging under the fridge for a snausage?
