It’s called The Deuce Theatre. Relocated to Charleston from New Jersey, it bills itself as “a new experimental theatre company in the SC Lowcountry.” The company gets started with a show at the North Charleston Cultural & Civic Complex at the Old Navy Yard. Called The Emperor is Naked?, based on the work of Hans Christian Anderson, it’s an original production of political satire that relies on audience participation to lampoon the politics of the past and present (and maybe the future, too). The Emperor is Naked? promises to be extremely funny and extremely relevant, especially in light of the coming presidential election. —Myles Hutto
