Riviera Beach, Fla., has been the lab rat of late on the saggy pants front. The municipality established it’s saggy pants ban earlier this year and there’s been an intense crackdown over the last few weeks. To this point, the cases have only involved fines. But it finally was presented to a judge when a man was given jail time because wearing his pants below his ass violated his parole (yes, you have to read that line again).

Not surprisingly, the judge was not ammused.

“Somebody help me,” Palm Beach Circuit Judge Paul Moyle said.

“We’re not talking about exposure of buttocks. No! We’re talking about someone who has on pants whose underwear are apparently visible to a police officer who then makes an arrest and the basis is he’s then held overnight, no bond. No bond!” the judge exclaimed.

Here’s our recent coverage of Charleston’s saggy pants debate.
