Considering a quick December trip back to my old stomping grounds the university town of Athens, Ga., I started checking out some of the band listings and club calendars today — the 40 Watt Club, the Caledonia Lounge, Flicker, etc. — just to see what might be happening. Logging onto the schedule on the Georgia Theatre’s web site, I found that Charleston’s own Jay Clifford and Owen Beverly were sharing the bill on Tues. Dec. 2 — and the club featured a quote from City Paper‘s own Lindsay Koob, who normally covers more orchestral concert music and formal stage performances than rock ‘n’ roll events. It was taken from a review Koob recently wrote on the collaboration between Clifford and the Charleston symphony Orchestra. Way to go Koob!
