A new line of clothing is making its name on the streets of Charleston. The Brown Derby Haberdashery (BRWN DRBY) is a small, local line of streetwear based out of Charleston with a focus on unique tees. Owner and designer KJ Kearney says he “creates clothing and products with Southern themes and meanings to represent the lives of the eclectic, Southern streetwear fan.” They have been up and running for a few years but flying just under the radar until recently. If you’re tired of doling out stacks of your hard-earned greenbacks for a printed tee, you’re not alone — KJ feels you. “With all the economic turmoil going on, it just doesn’t feel right to sell $50 tees.” For just $20 bucks a pop you can get a T-shirt with one of Brown Derby’s hip designs or catchy slogans scrawled across the front like “Betta than yo mama’s biscuits!” (Photos by Badjon Photography.) —Candice Summers
