Texas indie-country songsmith Robert Earl Keen returns to the Windjammer on the IOP (1008 Ocean Blvd.) this evening (Sun Feb. 15) with a cool set of twangy tunes, anthems, stories, and fan faves. He recently released a compilation titled Best, spanning his full career. He also just released a book of lyrics and one-liners titled The Road Goes On Forever and The Music Never Ends.

In a feature story last May, City Paper writer Stratton Lawrence described Keen’s material as, “stories you can drink to …  the creativity and imagery of his finely crafted lyrics have already earned him a place among the greats of Texas songwriters.” Music starts at 8 p.m.
