A bill introduced in the South Carolina House this week would provide local law enforcement with the ability to confiscate money and cars collected during a prostitution bust. Fortunately, the law is written broadly enough to mock. It states that property “used or … positioned for use” in the violation of the state’s law against hookers, johns, and pimps may be confiscated.
Now, isn’t getting arrested enough of an embarrassment without having to explain to your friend why you lost her platinum blond wig and “Baby, One More Time” outfit?
And, isn’t the beer and weed cops confiscate from drunks and drug dealers enough? What kind of party are they throwing at the police station these days?!
