This Sunday afternoon (Feb. 22), the Pour House hosts another of its weekly winter oyster roasts live acoustic tunes on the deck from Reid Stone, Rusty Cole (of Sol Driven Train), Ward Buckheister (of Sol Driven Train), John Hagar, and Brian Ledbetter — all local musicians who’ve been jamming together every weekend this season at the Chill and Grill out on Folly.
It’s Cole’s birthday bash as well. He describes the get-together an “oyster roast, benefit, and birthday party on the deck” from 3-8 p.m. “The music is free, but we are asking for an optional donation of $5 that will go to World Thrive,” he says. “For all you oyster lovers, there will be plenty on hand for $10. We are also going to use my birthday as an excuse to party, so grab an oyster knife and strap on an instrument and let’s have some fun together on the deck.”
Veteran blues singer/electric guitarist Seth Walker — N.C. native now based in Austin, Texas — plays two late-evening sets of electric urban blues, rock, and high-octane old-time R&B (in the vein of B.B. King, the Vaughan brothers, and the Neville Brothers) on the main stage starting at 8 p.m.
