Lately I’ve been obsessed with home design blogs, like Apartment Therapy, Design Sponge, and Copy Cat Chic. I particularly like the thrifty ones, that remind me what treasures can be found in second-hand stores, and what a difference a coat of paint can make. Every site I find links me to new sites: the inspirational possibilities are endless! It’s got me seriously excited to get off the couch and start being more creative.

One thing I’ve been wanting to do for years is really take up sewing, both for my home and my closet. I’ve really got no excuses: I own three sewing machines (hey, I just can’t pass up the sweet old sewing tables at yard sales), I know how to sew (I used to make and sell bags when I was younger), and now, I’ve finally found some websites to give me some great tips and supplies. Right now, my favorite ones are Burda Style (patterns, tutorials, and projects) and Tonic Living (stylish and retro fabrics). I hereby vow to stop gazing wistfully at stuff I can’t afford in magazines, and start making it myself, the frugalista way!

Do you have any websites or blogs that inspire you?
