Sometimes bold statements go unproven. Sometimes, they are proven for a little while and then fizzle out. Rarest is the bold statement proven over and over again. That’s where we seem to be with the Charleston Concert Association. This year, the group, under the leadership of John Dunnan, brought Wynton Marsalis, Joshua Bell, and this week, the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet — all a big deal.

Now comes news of the 2009-2010 season. It’s no less spectacular than the current one:

Martha Graham Dance Company: Oct. 27

An Evening of Bernstein with the Bruckner Orchestra of Linz, Austria: Nov. 16

Kathleen Battle singing traditional holiday music of Handel, Bach, Tchaikovsky and Mozart: Dec. 7, 2009

Winners the internationally acclaimed Van Cliburn Piano Competition in Texas: Date TBA

Moscow Festival Ballet: March 8, 2010

Philobolus (a modern dance company): April 10, 2010 —John Stoehr
