The Mike Wolk Jazz Group will join forces with artist Peter Scala for the North Charleston Arts Festival.

On Sun. May 3 at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., the group will perform songs to accompany six of Scala’s paintings at the South of Broadway Theatre at 1080 East Montague Ave.

On Wed. May 6 at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., they will perform during the Artwalk, an outdoor event full of entertainment and live artwork demonstrations during the festival.

Traditional jazz, classical, rock, and new compositions will be heard throughout the evening, as well as some swanky ensemble jazz tunes that tell the stories of Scala’s paintings.

The six chosen paintings will be projected on a screen while the jazz group gets to grooving, including: “There was a Hummingbird,” “Lux,” “The Magic Flower,” “Lost In Still Streets,” “Yellow Boat on a Violet Sea,” and “Judgment.”
