Local musician and Charleston favorite Bill Carson, of the New Music Collective, is providing original music for The Power Company’s presentation of Power Plants, A Spring Garden.

The Columbia-based dance company has a variety of performances for this season, including a piece inspired by Otis Redding’s music and another titled Darling Dove; the latter performance also includes a video and choreography from two Charlestonians, Kevin Host and Beth Coiner.

If you want to check out Carson’s music for the show and support the Holy City arts scene, head up to Columbia on Fri. April 17 or Sat. April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cottingham Theatre on Columbia College’s campus on North Main St. Tickets are only $10, with $5 tickets for students and seniors. Call (803) 786-3850 for tickets or visit www.thepowercompany.org for further details. —Reina Gascon-Lopez
