Thursday night Upper King Street came alive with the colorful, highly-anticipated Design Walk. Area shops stayed open late offering specials, entertainment, snacks, and wine. It was a completely different walk than last fall, with many of our favorite old stores replaced by new upscale interior design boutiques. We loved exploring King Street Kitchen Company (and their fresh-baked cookies and milk), Sig Supply (featuring some incredible bathtubs), and Siematic, where a huge crowd gathered to watch Mayor Riley cut the ribbon for the store’s grand opening. We snagged some great sale items at a few shops and met some authors, but alas, we had to leave the party way too early. Good thing the shops of Upper King are ready for a visit every day.
