There are two shows tonight, both previews. They’re the only ones running until the official launch of Spoleto and Piccolo tomorrow afternoon. One is Don John. The other is a dance recital by Hiroaki Umeda. Word is there are a tons of tickets to be sold for Don John. It’s the longest running show of the festival. There are also quite a few for Umeda. His is the more abstract of the two and so it’s no surprise there are tickets left for each of his three performances. Yet because expectations are low, Umeda might be a surprise hit. That at least has been a tradition of Spoleto. -JS
