Recently I was listening to some old Beatles music and The Ballad of John and Yoko came to mind. I was a kid of 14 when that song came out, and even though I was a fan I was conflicted that Lennon would glorify the bad behavior of his relationship with Ono during his first marriage to his wife Cynthia.
I thought of “The Governor”. There is a strong parallel to the 2 situations. “The Governor” glorified his relationship with his amorous Argentine in a way that was reminiscent of The Ballad of John and Yoko.
Two thoughts have since come to mind-first, “The Governor” has lost any moral authority (not that he had much) to be the Governor of this state.
Secondly, I pray that he is not inspired by Two Virgins…
Resignation will stop indignation!
