James Trez, affectionately known as Doc, has closed the doors to Amuse after five years in business, the Post and Courier reports today.

A sad loss for West Ashley residents and foodies all over. The article says the restaurant was sold, and that James Trez plans to stay in the area and find work as a professional chef. Trez shouldn’t have too much trouble finding solid work, considering the reputation he’s built for himself over the years. Before Amuse, Trez worked as a sous chef for John Marshall at Al di La.
