The Footlight Players and The Hat Ladies of Charleston are sponsoring a unique fashion fundraiser in conjunction with their upcoming production of Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, which will run concurrently with Charleston Fashion Week. Applicants can enter any kind of dress, and the winning design will hang in the Footlight Players’ lobby for the entire run of the play and will be available for purchase by five women. The participants determine the cost of their designs and what percentage of the sale price will be donated. The inspiration for the contest, Five Women Wearing the Same Dress is a comedic play written by Academy Award-winner Alan Ball about five identically-dressed bridesmaids at a wedding reception.
