Local bands Dan Wright & The New Beat, Firework Show, A Fragile Tomorrow will demonstrate their skills and compassion at the Relay for Life benefit concert at the Windjammer (1008 Ocean Blvd.) on Thurs. April 8.
The volunteer-driven fundraising event features the upbeat funk/soul-rock of Dan Wright & The New Beat at 9:45 p.m. Experimental indie rock quartet Firework Show hits the stage at 8:45 p.m. Up-and-coming local folk/alternative rock four-piece A Fragile Tomorrow kicks the music of at 8 p.m.
The event aims to raise unrestricted cash donations for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life program and promote community awareness and participation.
“The main objective of Relay is to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients, spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer, and unite a community in the fight against cancer,” say organizers.
Admission to the event is a $10 donation at the door. Funds raised will benefit the American Cancer Society.
