Elegant Italian restaurant and bar Mercato (102 N. Market St.) recently added some new jazz to its weekly lineup. The venue has been hosting live acoustic and low-volume jazz and lounge music for several years. The hot spot now hosts live jazz in the bar area seven evenings a week.

On Wednesdays, Cameron’s Trio — featuring skillful trumpeter Cameron Harder Handel, drummer Stuart White, and keyboardist Sam Sfirri —perform acoustic jazz and grooves from 6-10 p.m.

On Sundays, local ivory tickler Jordan Gravel plays contemporary jazz piano favorites and original material from 6-9 p.m.

The regular schedule still has the Leah Suárez Trio on Monday evenings, the Frank Duvall Trio on Tuesday evenings, Ann Caldwell & LooseFitt on Thursdays and Fridays, and Lewis-Gregory-Jenkins Trio on Saturday evenings. All shows are free. Check Music Board for the full listings, and see mercatocharleston.com for more.
