Happy weekend, fellow Spoletians. The calendar is chock full of fun Spoleto events, but a few stand out because they’re one-time-only (and free!) or brand new.
* Head to the beach (Isle of Palms, specifically) for the Sand Sculpting Competition. Some of the entries will wow you, others will make you wish you entered. Either way, it’s a fun way to spend a Saturday morning.
* Gain some insight into the trippy Lucinda Childs’ Dance at Conversations with Lucinda Childs at the Simons Center. It’s at 5 p.m., and free.
* The Piccolo Fiction Open is today at Blue Bicycle Books. You’ll hear prize-winning short stories read by their writers in the BB courtyard.
* The Upright Citizens Brigade make their triumphant return at Theatre 99 at 10:30 p.m. It goes without saying that this is some of the best comedy you’ll ever see.
